Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of these Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Built for War website, the Situation Room, and related services (collectively, the "Service"), provided by EF International Advisors, LLC ("Company," "we," "us"). By creating an account, subscribing, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. The Service

The Service includes information about the book Built for War, and the Situation Room — an AI-assisted tool that responds to situations you describe using the principles in the book — together with optional paid subscription plans and, for authorized accounts, additional authoring tools.

We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We may also impose usage limits, which vary by subscription tier.

3. Not professional advice

The Situation Room produces general, informational, AI-generated content based on a book. It is not legal, financial, medical, psychological, employment, or other professional advice, and it does not create any professional-client relationship. Outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for your circumstances, and no particular outcome is promised or guaranteed.

You are solely responsible for your decisions and actions. Do not rely on the Service as a substitute for the judgment of a qualified professional, and seek independent professional advice before acting on anything you read here.

4. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. You agree to provide accurate registration information, to keep your login credentials confidential, and to be responsible for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.

5. Subscriptions, billing, and cancellation

Paid plans are billed on a recurring basis through our payment processor, Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize us (via Stripe) to charge the then-current plan price at checkout and at the start of each renewal period until you cancel. Prices and plan features may change; we will give reasonable notice of changes that affect you.

You may cancel at any time through the billing portal in your account. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you retain access until then. Except where required by law, fees already paid are non-refundable. You are responsible for any applicable taxes.

6. Your content

The Service lets you submit situations, messages, and supporting materials such as documents, emails, and notes ("User Content"). You retain ownership of your User Content. You grant the Company a limited, non-exclusive license to host, store, and process your User Content solely to operate and provide the Service to you — including transmitting it to our AI provider to generate responses.

You represent that you have the right to submit your User Content and that doing so does not violate any law, contract, confidentiality obligation, or third-party right. Do not submit content you are not authorized to share. You are responsible for your User Content, and we are not liable for it.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to: use the Service for any unlawful purpose; attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or other accounts; probe, scan, or test the security of the Service; interfere with or disrupt the Service; scrape or harvest data; reverse engineer the Service except as permitted by law; resell or commercially exploit the Service or its outputs; or use the Service to harm, harass, or deceive others.

8. Intellectual property

The Service, the book Built for War, and all associated text, design, and content are owned by the Company and its licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, revocable, non-transferable license to use the Service for your own personal or internal use. You may not copy, distribute, publicly display, or create derivative works from the Service or the book except as expressly permitted.

9. Third-party services

The Service relies on third parties for payments, hosting, authentication, and AI processing. Your use of those features may be subject to the third parties' own terms. We are not responsible for third-party services and disclaim liability for their acts or omissions.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that AI-generated content will be accurate or reliable.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Company will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or relating to your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim or one hundred US dollars (US$100).

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Company and its officers, members, and agents from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your User Content, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time if you violate these Terms or if we reasonably believe your use poses a risk to the Service or others. You may stop using the Service at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

15. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas and applicable United States federal law, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Before filing any formal dispute, you agree to first contact us and attempt to resolve the matter informally. The state and federal courts located in Texas will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute that is not resolved informally, unless applicable law provides otherwise.
